Good to know

Best Time To Travel To Laos

We recommend travelling to Laos year-round; however, come prepared with a raincoat or other layers. In the wet season it’s often hot and wet, and in the dry season, warm and dry in the south, and colder and dry in the north.  We recommend avoiding August as it’s the rainiest month and may disrupt plans but other than that rainfall often only lasts for a couple of hours and then you can get on with your day! Explore the Mekong River, wander the temples, visit the Bolaven Plateau, climb the limestone karsts, stay in treehouses overnight whilst searching for Gibbons, or experience a local festival/celebration such as the Lao New Year (in April). Whatever your interests are, Laos has something for you!

  • Dry Season: November to April
  • Wet Season: May to October
