Best Time To Travel To Kyrgyzstan
We recommend visiting Kyrgyzstan anytime in the winter months from December to March or summer months from July to August. In the winter you will be able to stay in ski yurts across the country, as well as ski, or explore the snowy peaks by horseback. In summer, the country offers amazing hiking routes and shepherd yurts are available to stay in along the way. The spring and fall months are better for visiting the neighboring countries.
The country offers many activities such as cycling, horseback riding, rafting, and watching kok-boru (also known as kokpar), a dead goat polo game often played on national holidays. This game is also played in the neighboring countries of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. Don’t miss out on the Central Asian holiday or Nooruz (March 21) celebrating the coming of spring, the eagle hunting festival (August), Horseback Archery, or Yak Wrestling at Sary Mogol’s Summer Festival.
- Busy Season: June – August
- Low Season: December – February
