Best Time To Travel To The Democratic Republic Of Congo (DRC)
We recommend visiting the Democratic Republic of Congo anytime from July to September or from December to February for the most optimal weather for gorilla spotting, volcano trekking, exploring national parks and wildlife preserves. In general, the country is very rainy so no need to let that stop you from your activities. Get some good gear and you’ll be ready for all weathers. July to September is the best time to pair this trip with a safari trip in one of the neighboring countries such as Tanzania or Zambia. Whilst in the DRC, make sure to explore the lush rainforests, visit Virunga National Park, Nyiragongo Volcano, Kahuzi-Biega National Park, Lola Ya Bonobo Sanctuary, Okapi Wildlife Reserve, or the Senkwekwe Mountain Gorilla Center. You’ll be sure to see plenty of wildlife and hopefully spot one of their stunning sunsets.
- Predominantly Rainy Season: March to May, October to November
