Best Time To Travel To Egypt

Egypt’s climate is pretty consistent throughout the year, often hot and humid. Depending on the season the temperature drops a bit with the humidity and it can make all the difference in deciding when to visit. The most common reasons to visit Egypt are to visit the pyramids and other Pharaonic locations,  but many of these ancient sites and tombs happen to be in the desert which exacerbates the heat.

With this being said, visit anytime from September to November, or March to April when the temperatures are more favorable, to avoid price spikes. Although low season prices might entice you, we would suggest avoiding a visit from June to August as its unbearably hot and muggy, so hot that locals often take holidays to get away from the heat.

Whilst in Egypt after your stops made at the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Valley of the Kings, and the Karnak Temple Complex, before you leave to make sure you get your fill of kushwari and basbousa, surf the dunes of the Great Sand Sea, charter a falouka on the Nile, hike Mount Sinai, and take a dive in Dahab which offers some of the worlds best diving. You’ll have a great time in Egypt, just remember to stay hydrated!

  • High Season: December to February
  • Low Season: June to August
